There are a lot of design fads going around lately. I personally like to err on the side of caution and stick with interior designs that fit my personality. I’m sharing some inspiration for our guest bedroom with a modern bohemian flare.
I’ve been neglecting our guest bedroom for some time now, and with baby boy #2 arriving very soon, we will be hosting an abundance of guests for the next few weeks.
I love making friends and family feel at home when they are visiting. I never want anyone to feel like they have to tip toe around our house. My goal for the next few weeks is to turn our guest bedroom into a space of relaxation and enjoyment.
If you look around my home, you’ll notice I like to take a few different design aspects and add a little modern touch to it. I always try to keep my home updated, but my biggest concern is finding pieces of art and furniture that I know will last for many years!
The Bohemian design has been popular lately, along with the farmhouse style, but I feel like you can easily take those design aspects and mix in a little modern or contemporary touch to make the space uniquely yours.
Bedding
For our guest bedroom I wanted to keep the bedding very neutral so that in a year or so (knowing me, probably sooner) if I change my mind, I can really just rotate the decor and stay in budget. I do love the eclectic patterns for bedding but preferred to stick with a white set for our bedroom.
Rugs
I love the look of layering an area rug on carpet. If you asked my husband, he would beg to differ. But I think adding an area rug to a bedroom can bring in texture and color. I found the perfect woven pom pom rug from none other than Target and I think it brings in a playful aspect and great texture!
Pillows
This is where I love to have fun. I grabbed this pillow a few weeks ago and it has been my biggest inspiration for the bedroom. The pink, cream and orange has been so fun to decorate with! It really does give the bedroom a little sass and sticks with the bohemian feel. Throw pillows can be difficult to find and I’m guilty for being extremely picky. In this case, I saw the pillow and fell in love and everything has been flowing from there. Have some fun with it!
Decor
Now time for some fun! Succulents are all the rage right now and I can’t say I disagree. I think they are great pieces you can place in any room and totally low maintenance! Add some texture and pattern with a few picture frames, or grab a wall tapestry for a little flare. I think it’s all about what you love. Make the room unique and completely yours. You’ve got this!

Boho bedrooms and decor is so trendy, I love it! But I’ve always loved boho style. I was probably a hippie in my past life lol.
