I’ve spent so much time and energy on decorating nurseries, I finally gave myself the grace to create a feminine master bedroom. Check out my inspiration!

Classic & Feminine Master Bedroom Inspiration

Moving out of our newly built home in Louisville pulled on my heart strings a little bit. I was so proud that my husband and I created something that was ours and we could call it home. But, I knew we could do it again if we wanted and find the right time to really make the most of it.

When we started looking for homes in Michigan, I was disappointed with the outcome, but then a tiny miracle happened. We found a new subdivision with beautiful homes that were built to rent! This was the perfect solution. It gives us the opportunity to explore our new area and procrastinate a little bit with finding the perfect home for us, whether we build again or find a home we love!

With all of this being said, the interior design butterflies in my stomach were going crazy! Decorating a home for my family and I is exactly that, creating a home. Somewhere to come to at the end of the day and feel peace. One of my favorite rooms is the Master Bedroom. I love creating a safe haven for myself, and an upgraded king bed helps a little bit too 😉

So I wanted to share a little bit of what was floating around in my mind and the inspiration behind our Master Bedroom. I’m hoping to share a few sneak peaks next week!

Classic and Feminine Beds

I’ve always longed for a soft and feminine approach to furniture. I wanted sturdy pieces that can last a longtime!

Farmhouse Bed

I am a huge fan of Pottery Barn but majority of the time it isn’t realistic for our budget. This Farmhouse Bed makes my heart flutter! I love that it can come in an Espresso or the Grey Wash.

Toulouse Wood Bed

Another PB favorite of mine, The Toulouse Bed. I think mixing the elements of wood and upholstered is a classic look!

Swanley Panel Bed

Lastly, a fully upholstered bed. This Swanley Panel Bed was the one we chose and I am so in love with it! Fast shipping and easy to put together! Perfect for a Feminine touch in our master bedroom.

Classic Furniture

Along with a great bed, we needed to upgrade our nightstands and dresser. It was important to invest in pieces that were going to last a few years.

Malt Collection

When I saw this collection on Joss & Main, I knew it had to be ours. It was the perfect set for our master bedroom. The quality of the furniture is outstanding. I also didn’t realize this until the furniture arrived, the Malt Nightstand has two USB ports AND a disappearing shelf for extra space! side note: The 7 drawer dresser is VERY heavy! Pay the $20 to have them place in your bedroom for you. You can thank me later 😉

Mix & Match

It seems very popular to mix and match furniture. Playing with different elements can be fun! These Noely 2-drawer nightstands are classic pieces and create a beautiful feminine touch with an upholstered bed. I also love this Stoughton 7-drawer dresser to bring in a little shabby chic element.

Feminine Bedding

Linen

Linen bedding can be styled in so many different ways. It’s very popular lately with the farmhouse trend. I think Pottery Barn bedding like the Belgian Flax Linen set is absolutely worth the splurge! The duvet and shams are so soft, not what you would imagine with linen!

Cotton

I don’t think you can ever go wrong with cotton. This Lucky Brand Bedding from Macy’s is beautiful and the texture brings a pop to the duvet!

Decor

Lastly, adding pieces of decor and color to your bedroom is the most fun! One piece I am totally crushing on is the Serene House Diffuser. Fun baskets are a great way to store extra pillows and blankets.

This Sedona Sunset Canvas has been my favorite buy for our bedroom. Home decor trick: use velcro command strips for easy on and off!

So what do you think?! Maybe it’s my wishful thinking for Spring – but I am loving the grey and pink color palette. I’ve also been a huge fan of linen bedding like the photos above!
